MEYERS

Meyers

Meyers – typically called the “Gateway,” is the first community neighborhood one enters when arriving in South Lake Tahoe via Highway 50 from Sacramento.  Although the area maps may make Meyers appear to be a distance from the main town, it is only approximately five minutes to the area known as the “Y” which is the intersection of Hwy 50, Emerald Bay Hwy (89) and Lake Tahoe Blvd.  From there, it is only another 5 – 10 minutes from shopping, dining, skiing and Lake Tahoe beaches.

Meyers is a top choice for buyers seeking a family-style community, level topography, nearby outdoor recreation activities and an overall quiet environment.

Meyers is a top choice for buyers seeking a family-style community, level topography, nearby outdoor recreation activities and an overall quiet environment.  The Lake Tahoe Golf Course, through which meanders the Truckee River, frames the neighborhood and provides not only golf in the warmer months but idyllic cross-country skiing in the winter.  Beautiful mountain, forest and river scenic views enhance the neighborhood and remind folks why they choose to live in Lake Tahoe.  The neighborhood park, Tahoe Paradise Park hosts Lake Baron and between the two, residents can enjoy a playground, picnics, fishing, water skiing and just hanging by the river.  The newly established elementary level Environmental Science Magnet School is providing top achievement scores and is in high demand among the local residents.  Nearby is the second golf course, Tahoe Paradise Golf Course which provides a shorter and tighter challenge.  There is no need to rush into the main town as there is a well-stocked local grocery store, gas stations and yummy restaurants all within the area.  Biking and strolling are also popular within the neighborhood, especially with the newly constructed bike lanes. Sierra-At-Tahoe is within a short hop over the Echo Summit.

The average lot size is around 6,000 square feet, generally level and often with wonderful mountain views.  Meyers is also known for being home of the beautiful Western Juniper, a tree that is rare to find.
