Tahoe Keys

The Tahoe Keys is one of South Lake Tahoe’s most sought after neighborhoods. This unique private marina community area consists of 1220 homes and 335 town-homes situated on 740-acres with eleven miles of inland waterways making it a prime location for those with a passion for boating. The Tahoe Keys offers a marina, boat storage, boat rentals and supplies. The marina is also home of the long time local favorite restaurant, The Fresh Ketch.

With wide streets and beautiful views of Lake Tahoe, sweeping meadows and Mt. Tallac, the Tahoe Keys is very pedestrian and bike friendly.

Along with most homes and condominiums having water and mountain views, the amenities within this neighborhood include both indoor and outdoor pools, multiple (7) tennis courts, a club house, a playground facility, volleyball courts and a private beach. Use of these amenities requires a homeowner access card. In addition, most of the properties have their own boat docks on channels leading directly to the open waters of Lake Tahoe. There is also a landlocked lagoon ideal for quietly drifting and paddling. The Tahoe Keys also provides its own security program and is also home to Tahoe’s most prestigious gated community, Lighthouse Shores.

Located within the immediate Tahoe Keys neighborhood are the Fresh Ketch restaurant (with indoor and outdoor dining), the Tahoe Keys marina, a health club and a number of small businesses. There is also a popular and very peaceful hiking trail that meanders along the wildlife bird refuge out to the the shores of the lake. Winter enthusiasts will greatly appreciate the close proximity, approximately 4 miles, to the slopes of Heavenly Mountain skiing. Bike trails leading to Tahoe’s best beaches, nearby grocery stores and transportation are all extra bonuses for those seeking the ultimate in relaxation. All in all, life in the Tahoe Keys affords residents the luxury of convenience, beauty, recreation and tranquility.

The Tahoe Keys area can be accessed through the middle of town on Tahoe Keys Blvd and also 15th St off of Highway 89 while on your way to Camp Richardson.

Tahoe Keys Beach

The Tahoe Keys were built in the 1950s and 1960s when an estimated 5 million cubic yards of material were dredged from the marsh at the end of the Truckee River. The fingers of land were then created which gave the area 11 miles of backyard waterways.
